Sew Mama Sew Giveaway

More great giveaways here!

I had a lot of fun with the giveaway this past spring and after my first giveaway of my very own, I decided to take part in this one! I’m super excited!

You don’t need to follow me to enter (although if you want to hang around that would be SUPER-AWESOME! No pressure), or tweet, or Facebook, or anything else like that. Just leave me a comment telling me what your favorite hot drink is. For example, mine is chai tea. Or London Fog- that stuff is tasty. Or mint hot chocolate. Or… Yeah, I’m not really being helpful anymore. Favorite hot drink (or six if you’re like me). AND you have to tell me what you want to win. Also you need to be a resident of the US ’cause I’m poor.

What are you winning? Well. You have options.

Choice A: A froggy hat, you choose the color, for your favorite tiny human. And you’re also getting a little 4″ tall froggy doll that I can’t show you a picture of right now because I haven’t made it yet. But it will be the same color as your tiny human’s froggy hat. By tiny human, I mean someone who is either between the ages of 1-3, or 3-5. If this is what you want, please specify in your comment which age group your tiny person fits in. And here’s a picture.

Photobucket
Ugly couch not included.

Choice B: A whale hat for your favorite large human (or you!). Fits most teens and adults (I have a tiny head and my husband is 6’4 with a proportionate head and it fits both of us). I will either make you a turquoise narwhal, or a cream beluga. Same hat, only one will have a horn and one won’t. AND. I will also make you a little 4″ whale to match. The narwhal will have a pointy toothpick sticking out one end, so if you’re not into pointy toothpicks and you want the narwhal hat, PLEASE tell me that you want a tiny beluga with your narwhal hat. And here’s a picture.

If you are a no-reply blogger and I can’t get an email address from your profile, you’ll need to leave me one in your comment, or I won’t be able to get ahold of you if you win and then both of us will be sad because I’ll have to pick someone else.

This is running from today (Monday, December 12) to Friday, December 16 at 5:00 PM PST. Sometime either Friday night or Saturday morning (probably Saturday morning after I settle the kids and am at least halfway through a cup of coffee) I will pick a winner via random.org. I will then email that winner and they will have until Monday to get back to me before I’m forced to pick another winner (which would also make me sad). I will then crochet your items for you and pop them in the mail no later than December 24. So think of this as an after-Christmas gift.

A few people are having issues with not being able to publish comments, so I’m going to post comments on their behalf. If you’re running into the same issue, you can email me at thecraftfrog@hotmail.com and let me know and I’ll make a comment for you as well.

And when I'm sick, hot toddies made with bourbon, a scoop of my homemade marmalade, and boiling water. YUM.

  17. I love the whale and so does my kiddos! So cute and the horn is so cute!!!! we love hot coco with home made marshmallows. The coco you can buy the "mallows" you need to make."Mallows"3 packages unflavored gelatin1 cup ice cold water, divided12 ounces granulated sugar, approximately 1 1/2 cups1 cup light corn syrup1/4 teaspoon kosher salt1 teaspoon vanilla extract1/4 cup confectioners' sugar1/4 cup cornstarchNonstick sprayDirectionsPlace the gelatin into the bowl of a stand mixer along with 1/2 cup of the water. Have the whisk attachment standing by.In a small saucepan combine the remaining 1/2 cup water, granulated sugar, corn syrup and salt. Place over medium high heat, cover and allow to cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Uncover, clip a candy thermometer onto the side of the pan and continue to cook until the mixture reaches 240 degrees F, approximately 7 to 8 minutes. Once the mixture reaches this temperature, immediately remove from the heat.Turn the mixer on low speed and, while running, slowly pour the sugar syrup down the side of the bowl into the gelatin mixture. Once you have added all of the syrup, increase the speed to high. Continue to whip until the mixture becomes very thick and is lukewarm, approximately 12 to 15 minutes. Add the vanilla during the last minute of whipping. While the mixture is whipping prepare the pans as follows. For regular marshmallows:Combine the confectioners' sugar and cornstarch in a small bowl. Lightly spray a 13 by 9-inch metal baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Add the sugar and cornstarch mixture and move around to completely coat the bottom and sides of the pan. Return the remaining mixture to the bowl for later use. When ready, pour the mixture into the prepared pan, using a lightly oiled spatula for spreading evenly into the pan. Dust the top with enough of the remaining sugar and cornstarch mixture to lightly cover. Reserve the rest for later. Allow the marshmallows to sit uncovered for at least 4 hours and up to overnight.Turn the marshmallows out onto a cutting board and cut into 1-inch squares using a pizza wheel dusted with the confectioners' sugar mixture. Once cut, lightly dust all sides of each marshmallow with the remaining mixture, using additional if necessary. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.Have fun and enjoy.

  54. I like hot tea, nothing fancy, just plain old Lipton. I love the froggie hat. I have 18 month olds, so I'm thinking the 3-5 size maybe, so that they can wear it for more than 1 winter? We don't get a lot of cold weather here, so I want to make it last. It's too cute for one winter only.

  66. I'm having a giveaway, too, and it is sooooo sad when folks leave a comment and I can't get back to them! Anyway, I do not knit or crochet so this is a super fun giveaway for me (it's something I CAN'T make for myself!). I LOVE LOVE LOVE the froggy hat and I have three tiny persons who would LOVE it, too, though I'd have to say the 3-5 age range would be best (my tiny people will have to share) Thanks so very much for doing this! 🙂 Caren

  67. love the froggy hat! i have a little one that would look great in it.my favorite hot drink is coffee with any type of flavored cream.

  68. Ooh, the 1-3 froggy hat would be great for nephews. My new favorite drink I make by putting a tablespoon, or 7, of my dad's home made from scratch chocolate sauce in the bottom of a mug. I then carefully poor in milk so they don't mix. Heat it up and the milk gets foamy and sweet. I drink for a minute, then stir and start to get chocolate milk, then there's this delicious thick chocolate finish. Mmmm.

  69. I usually don't drink hot drinks, because I am always hot and they don't help with that. 🙂 However, if I do decide to have one, I enjoy having a caramel latte! Oh, and I love both of the hats. I would have to choose the whale though. My sister would love it!

  70. My favorite hot drink changes on my mood. Some days it's peppermint tea, others chai, some days coffee, and some hot cocoa. I probably drink more hot, herbal tea than any of the others, but that's because when I am in a tea mood I tend to drink cup after cup after cup, instead of one cup of coffee or cocoa. I have loved your hats. If I win, I'll be torn. I have a 2 year old niece that would look totes adorbs in a froggy, but I totally want a whale/narwhal. LOL.

  71. Oh please oh please oh PUH-LEAEEEESE! My little boy is OBSESSED with whales. And his momma (*cough* me) can't knit to save her life. It's amazing 🙂 Merry Christmashopezoll@yahoo.com

  72. Right now I am loving Vanilla Honey tea by Celestial Seasons (I think). It's yummy with a dash of honey.

  73. Awesome giveaway — thanks! Not very interesting, but my favorite hot drink os coffee, cream and 2 sweet & lows! As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to go make myself a cup after I leave this comment! I'd choose the froggy hat for my little niece. If it's possible, I think this hat would make her even more adorable 🙂
