Twinkies

I made two, because Twinkies always come in pairs. There’s a good reason that they look a little different. Notice how one is straight on the top and one is kind of wonky? I stuffed the one that’s straight from the end and stuffed the one that’s wonky from the side. I like how the end-stuffed Twinkie looks a lot better. My daughter doesn’t care. She’s already disappeared with both of them.

In two weeks (March 11) there will be no update. We need to take my son out of town for a doctor’s appointment.

Materials:

  • Worsted weight pale yellow and medium brown.
  • G-hook
  • Stuffing

Twinkies
Base
1) with brown ch 16, sc in 2nd ch from hook to end, sc two more times in last ch, sc in bottom loop of each ch, sc once more in same ch as first sc, join with sl st (32)
2) ch 1, *sc15, 3 sc in next sc*, repeat, join with sl st (36)
3) ch 1, *sc15, 2 sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat, join with sl st (44)
Top
1) with yellow ch 16, sc in 2nd ch from hook to end, sc two more times in last ch, sc in bottom loop of each ch, sc once more in same ch as first sc, join with sl st (32)
2) ch 1, *sc15, 3 sc in next sc*, repeat, join with sl st (36)
3) ch 1, *sc15, 2 sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat, join with sl st (44)
4-6) ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with sl st (44)
break yarn, finish off

Assembly
Sew top to base, starting along the length of one side, around one end, then up the other side. Stuff from the open end, sew closed.
